where to eat in indianapolis

Hello sweet friends! With summer in full swing and the amount of messages I’m getting from you all asking what to do in Indy, I am so excited for today’s post. I get requests about where to go in Indy year-round, so I thought it was the perfect time to share where to eat, where to stay and what to do in Indianapolis! I’m going to break down all my favorites and I promise I won’t skimp the details. Let’s kick off my Indianapolis Travel Guide… :)

Let’s start with the most important… food!

Breakfast / Brunch

Garden Table | Hands down best brunch place in Indy! Best vibes. Best food!

Cafe Patachou | Aaron and I’s go to place! Their egg white omelettes are to die for :)

Lunch/Dinner

Livery | Get the empanadas as an appetizer! Cutest vibe and a fun rooftop

Conner’s Kitchen + Bar | Best kept secret in Indy! Attached to the Marriott hotel. Great vibes and good drinks too

The Eagle | Bringing the south to Indy. Chicken sandwich is to die for and perfect to go with a group of friends as their portions are shareable

Bakersfield | My go to taco joint! If you’re a margarita girl, this place is for you

Tavern at the Point | Quickly become one of Aaron and I’s favorite spots. Laid back, casual & GOOD food. Highly recommend their nachos or a burger!

Bru Burger | Best burger in town! Pro tip: You can make any burger a snack burger! Their burgers are huuuuge so that’s what I always get with a small Gorganberry salad. FIRE

Sangrita Saloon | Best kept secret in Broad Ripple! CUTEST decor, amazing food and drinks

Louie’s Wine Dive | Something fun and different! They offer amazing wines but if your hubby or man doesn’t care for it, they have a full bar too. Everyone’s happy :)

Drinks

Hotel Tango | Fountain Square staple! Great vibe and even better cocktails

Burnside Inn | Hidden gem on Mass Ave. Doesn’t look like much on the outside but they have three floors with three different vibes on each! Great cocktails and fun atmosphere

Union 50 | Little more upscale but not super fancy! They have good food too

Ball & Biscuit | Cool vibes and good drinks!

Wiseguy Lounge | Best speakeasy in town! It’s behind a Goodfellas pizza so you walk through the restaurant to get to it. Cozy vibes and amazing drinks!

Inferno Room | Suuuuper different and fun tiki bar! Atmosphere is fun and would be a great place to go with a group

St. Joseph Brewery| This is a cool brewery located inside an old church! They have a full bar if you’re not into beer. Great food too!

Metazoa Brewery | Fun vibes and good views

where to stay in indianapolis

WHERE TO STAY

JW Marriott | Stunning views of downtown and right in the heart of the city!

Ironworks Hotel | This hotel is a little north of the city but the vibes are so worth it. Super rustic and unlike anything in the city! Also has tons of restaurants right below and the Fashion Mall at Keystone is right around the corner.

Ripple BNB | If you want to change it up, I highly recommend you check out Deborah with @ripplebnb! She has THE COOLEST Airbnbs (yes there are multiple) and they will make all your Pinterest dreams come true :)

There you have it friends! All my favorite spots in Indy. I tried to stay within the downtown and Broad Ripple area since that’s a quick drive to one another! I am born and raised in Indy and it really is such a cute and up and coming town. There are new places popping up left and right so the options are endless! If you check out any of these places, be sure to tag me on Instagram @amarakay so I can see all your adventures!

Welcome to my city!
